Where are you headed?
Eighteen is a sign of maturity; it shows the full transition from adolescence to adulthood physically, emotionally and mentally. Eighteen is an age to express all that you have learnt. It is also a time to express natural talents bestowed on you and the skills you’ve acquired.
Whatever you do, the choice is all yours and you will ultimately be held responsible for every of your acts. There will be loads of options, distractions and temptations but it is important that you choose wisely. You can’t afford to live an unprincipled life. Your parents have in the last couple of years tried to imbibe morals, values and principles in you. It’s time to take charge and stay guided. It’s up to you what you do when no one is watching.
You Can Now Go to Jail
At eighteen, most countries laws recognize an individual as a part of the majority. You can vote, drive, travel without parental consent but guess what? You can go to jail for committing any illegal offence. You are no longer bound by the Minors’ Act so you cannot make silly mistakes. You have to be careful at this stage.
Most people want shots on their eighteenth birthday. It’s the age that tempts you to try out stuff. The “let’s do something crazy age”. Freedom is intoxicating. Learn to handle it.
Being an adult does not give you the license to mess your life up. In fact, you should make decisions that are acceptable both legally and morally.
