Study Medicine in Ireland
Like the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) in the United Kingdom, a prospective applicant must sit for the HPAT-Ireland (Health Profession Admissions Test). The HPAT is an admission test that is required by all Irish Medical Schools to be taken by applicants interested in studying Medicine in the Republic of Ireland. HPAT registration is usually open from November and ends in January, while the examination holds in February.
Prospective students should not miss the deadline. Entry requirements: Irish Leaving Certificate exam / Advance Level or equivalent is required. Students are advised to check with the university of interest for the specific subject requirement. The Bridge House College 1 +1 pathway is an alternative route to studying Medicine in Ireland. A student can offer either the one year University Foundation Program (UFP) or the first year A Level – Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS LEVEL) for a year and then, proceed to the Institute of Education, Dublin(www.ioe.ie) to complete another one year program of study in preparation towards the Irish Leaving Certificate Examinations. Duration: 5 – 6 years depending on the result achieved from the Leaving certificate examination. A 4-year graduate entry route is also possible.
Study Medicine in Poland
Poland is in Central Europe, and it is one of the most developed countries within the region. Poland is attractive to interested students who want to study Medicine, because of the opportunity to work in the country after graduation. There are a lot of Medical Schools that teach in English, so interested students do not need to be fluent in Polish to study Medicine in Poland.
However, after a successful completion of the 6-year medical course in a Polish University, students must pass a Polish Language exam conducted by the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists, and then they qualify to write the Medical Final Exam called The LEK- Lekanski Egzamin Koncowy to practice in Poland. Afterwards, the student-doctors will complete a 12-month internship.

Studying medicine in Hungary is internationally recognized. Hungarian medical university degrees are recognized in all European economic areas and Switzerland. In the United States (US), Hungarian graduates (as foreign students) are eligible to write and pass the United States Medical Licensing Examinations {USMLE) also, they are eligible to pass the Medical Council of Canada Evaluation Examination (MCCEE) and the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE)before applying for residencies.
Most medical universities in Hungary are accredited by World Health Organization (WHO), and the US Department of education. The major requirements for medical university admission are the high school leaving examination certification, with an advanced level qualification or equivalent in addition to passing the medical university entrance examination. The Bridge House College Medical Foundation program also offers adequate preparation for students willing to study in Hungary.
Study Medicine in Ukraine
Ukraine is among the most popular destination for international medical students. On average, the most popular medical universities in Ukraine are recognized in nearly all Asian and African countries and the World Health Organization(WHO). However, all EU/EEA do not automatically recognize Ukraine medical qualifications.
Ukraine has low tuition fees, and cost of living, while students can study in English. The application process is straightforward without qualifying entrance examination or aptitude test. The study duration is 6-years.
Study Medicine in German
Germany is a non-Anglophone country study destination where medical studies are taught in German. Therefore, a C1 – Level – Highly Proficient level in the German Language is required. Interested Candidates in Nigeria can start improving their German Language from A1 Level up to C1 Level at the Goethe Institut to qualify to study Medicine in Germany.
Medicine in Germany is a federally regulated course of study that is subjected to similar entry requirements nationwide. Application requirement to study Medicine requires excellent A-Level grades with high German Language Skills or to undergo a 1-year M –course (Medical related) at a StudienKolleg in Germany. Duration to study Medicine in German takes 6years and 3months and it is completed with a State Examination, after which the candidate obtains a license to practice as a Physician.
International students outside the EU can apply directly to study Medicine at the German University or via uni-assist a centralized application portal. Foreign students outside the EU have a 5% study quota reserved in each University, so if your grades are A’s, why not shoot your shot! Most public universities in Germany are tuition-free for both German and International students. There are only four private universities that offer Medical studies in German, and they are not tuition-free.
Study Medicine in Romania
Romania is another destination that attracts international students. Graduates from Romania medical universities are also gradually gaining recognition with the western countries. Students can choose to take on their medical studies in languages like Romania, German, French, English or Hungarian. It has a lengthy documentary process and the admission requirements can vary in Romanian Universities, while the entrance test is set based on chemistry and biology.
