PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
Programme Code: Medical Pathway
This programme is for students who wish to study any of the Medical Science related courses.
A level Route
Students offering the A Level program can apply to Year 1 of the Medical Schools in United Kingdom, Nigeria, Hungary, Ireland, etc.
UFP Route
Students offering the University foundation program can opt for the following to study Medicine post completion of the UFP:
· 1 year @ Institute of Education, Ireland; then, progress to Year 1 of any Irish or UK Medical school.
· 1 year of Basic Medicine course in Hungary; then, upon successful completion progress to Year 1 Hungarian Medical Schools.
· 1 year of Premedical Sciences at the University of West of England, Bristol, and upon successful completion, proceed to St. George’s University (SGU) in Grenada, West Indies.
· 1 year Medical Sciences Foundation course at University of Central Lancashire then progress to Year 1 at the same University.
Studying Medicine in USA & CANADA
Students are expected to have a first degree before studying Medicine in these countries.
Requirements;
O Level: A minimum of 7 grade B’s or above including English, Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry.
Additional Requirements;
UK-CAT : Most medical schools in UK requires applicants to take the UK Clinical Aptitude Test, in the year of application to a UK university.
UKVI-IELTS: Test of English is expected to be taken by Non-UK Citizens.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS/INTERVIEW: At the initial application stage, most applicants are expected to write an entrance exam or be invited for an interview depending on the study destination.
AS LEVEL SUBJECTS: Most UK Universities require 4 subjects at the AS Level.
