Bridge House College Dominates International Physics Competition: A historc Victory for Nigeria
Bridge House College (BHC) has achieved a landmark academic milestone as two of its students earned top honours at the recently concluded International Physics Competition, with awards officially presented on April 20, 2026.
Denyefa Eric Omare secured a prestigious Gold Honour, distinguishing himself among participants from over 80 countries. His exceptional performance earned him the highest score in Nigeria, alongside a National Award recognizing his contribution to the country’s global academic standing.

Esther Tochi Iweha also delivered an outstanding performance, earning a Silver Honour. Her achievement reflects both her individual excellence and the strength of Bridge House College’s academic program.

The International Physics Competition is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous global academic contests. Honours are awarded based on a percentile ranking system:
* Gold Honour is reserved for the top 8% of participants worldwide, representing exceptional mastery of advanced theoretical and experimental physics.
* Silver Honour is awarded to the top 25% globally, signifying a high level of analytical and problem-solving ability beyond the standard secondary school curriculum.
These accomplishments underscore Bridge House College’s commitment to academic excellence and its role in nurturing globally competitive students. By excelling against thousands of participants worldwide, Denyefa and Esther have demonstrated that Nigerian students can compete at—and lead—the highest levels in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Their success serves as an inspiration to aspiring young scientists across Nigeria and the African continent.
