Who We Are

We are a sixth form college. Students come to Bridge House College to experience the solid academic bridge we provide to higher education. We teach and motivate students to achieve high grades in their examinations to enable them gain admission into the best universities of their choice. Our highly dedicated and enthusiastic academic faculty provides the right atmosphere to ensure that students receive individual help and attention. We have a broad curriculum which helps students find a course that best suits their career aims. The College upholds a high level of both academic and moral discipline. We also encourage student participation in extracurricular activities. Our high standards are preserved through regular quality assurance inspections by the University of Hull and Brooke House College UK. We are a full member of COBIS (Council of British Independent Schools) and AISEN. We have partnership agreements with over 30 universities in the UK, US, Canada, Hungary, Ireland, Ghana etc.

What We Do

Bridge House College is an accredited centre with the British council to conduct Cambridge examinations and also a UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admission Services) centre. BHC works with Brooke House College, UK, a foremost sixth form college with over 35 years’ experience in placing students in universities throughout the UK. BHC provides a serene environment away from the city where students can focus on their studies, their participation in extra-murals, developing their interpersonal relationships, as well as realizing the career path most suitable for them. The faculty at BHC has an excellent track record of sixth-form college education; our teachers are enthusiastic about teaching and are motivated towards bringing out the best in each student. We strive to make sure every one of our students have a balanced experience at BHC; combining studies, religious activities, sports, and personal development in the right blend.

Meet Our Team

College Administrator
Principal

Mrs. Emeanu is a seasoned educationist. She attended Queens School, Enugu and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka from where she obtained a B. Sc (Hons). She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Benin and a Master degree (Guidance & Counselling) from the University of Lagos.

She is a WAEC Examiner, certified IGCSE instructor in Biology and a Teacher Educator. She worked for Corona Secondary School for thirteen years, where she was part of the team that trained all teachers of Corona Schools’ Trust Council for the implementation of e-learning in the system as well as training Lagos State teachers for the same purpose.

She is also a Council of British International Schools (COBIS), UK certified Child Protection and Safer Recruitment personnel.

Prior to joining Bridge House College, she held the following positions: Vice Principal with Anambra State Education Commission, Acting Principal at Infant Jesus Academy, Asaba, Delta State and Educational Administrator at Ripe International School, Surulere, Lagos.

At present Mrs. Emeanu is the Principal of Bridge House College.

Sunday graduated from the University of Lagos with BSc in Business Administration. He holds an MBA from the same university and is a graduate member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.

He has worked in several institutions gaining practical experience in administration as an executive in corporate organisations which are Longman Nigeria Plc., Africaone Airline and Riskwatch Insurance Brokers.

In academia he has been a lecturer in Business Administration at a polytechnic in Ibadan. He has also taught Business Studies and Accounts at Oregun High School, Ikeja. He worked with Cambridge A-Level at Crescent Hall College and was Programme Coordinator and Lecturer in Business Management at El-Woodland School.

At Bridge House College, Uwakwe is currently the Business Studies Tutor and Coordinator of the Cambridge Advanced Level Programme. He is an inspirational teacher and has written a textbook of International standard in Business Studies.

He is a firm believer in work excellence, meeting schedules/targets, and setting standards of performance.

Vice Principal 2

Richard began his teaching career at Kaduna State Polytechnic  Lagos study Centre in 2001, before proceeding to Artic Conference, Lagos where he taught Advanced Level Biology between 2003 and 2006. He later joined Bridge House College in September 2006.

Richard has attended several trainings locally and internationally including the CIE training for A levels teachers in Cambridge, United Kingdom in the Summer of 2011.

Richard is also the UFP coordinator at Bridge House College.

Head of Admissions / Communication Skills lecturer

Anebi graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar in 1985. Since then he has taught English Language and Literature at Holy Child College, Superior Tutors and Nohill College. Between 1987 and 1992, he worked at Teaching Service Board, Benue State as an Education Officer where he was promoted to Vice Principal. Mr. Aakole also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and has received various educational trainings within and outside the country.
He has attended seminars at the University of Hull, De Montfort University and the University of Nottingham (all in the UK)
At Bridge House College, he is the Head of Admissions.

Head of Humanities

Emmanuel holds BSc degree as well as a Master of Science degree in Sociology, both obtained from the University of Lagos.

He has had over six years experience in teaching Sociology at City Class Advance Level schools before joining Bridge House College in 2007.

He has attended various seminars on leadership both here in Nigeria and United Kingdom. His book titled ‘Understanding Basic Concepts in Sociology’ is near completion.

Here at Bridge House, he teaches Sociology.

Head of Science/Physics Lecturer

Joseph is a graduate of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from The Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He is currently working on obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, Kaduna.

Prior to joining Bridge House College in 2008, Mr Ake had worked as a Physics and Mathematics teacher in several schools some of which include Top Tutors, AVI-Cenna International School, Crescent Hall College and Awesome College all between 1992 and 2008.

At Bridge House College, Mr Ake handles Physics.

Head of Student Affairs

David got an HND certificate in Microbiology with speciality in Virology Technique from the Nigerian Institute of Science Technology, Ibadan in 1998, a Higher Certificate in the same field from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in 1999, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Food and Industrial Microbiology from Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2002.

He has a rich working experience and here at Bridge House College, he has a dual responsibility of running the Science Laboratory as well.

Accounts Lecturer

Kennedy has an HND Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology. After practicing for some years, he went further and graduated with a B.Sc (Hon) degree in Accounting from the Lagos State University in 2006. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.

He started his teaching career in 1999 at Rex College, Apapa. Since then, he has lectured at the Lagos City Computer College, the Lagos City Polytechnic, where he taught Accounting, Economics, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting and Taxation.

He rose to become coordinator of school of part-time in Lagos City Polytechnic.

Kennedy teaches Accounting at Bridge House College.

Head of Boarding

Mr. Enebeli Harrison is a graduate of Public Administration from Kwara State Polytechnic and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He holds a Certificate and Diploma. Currently, he is running an Entrepreneurship Studies Programme at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He has also attended several training on Boarding Administration and Hostel Management.

He has worked for nine years as Administrative Staff at Our Lady of Apostles Private School, Yaba and as House Father/ Chairman of Staff Welfare at Henry Alex-Duduyemi Memorial College, Ile-Ife.

At Bridge House College, he is the Head of Boarding/Facility. He is deeply involved in the pastoral framework of the college and in the day-to-day mentorship of the students in preparation for life outside school.

Guidance Counsellor

Ayodele is a 1988 graduate of Education and History of the then Ondo State University, now Ekiti State Ado-Ekiti.

In 1991, he obtained his Master in Education Degree in Guidance and Counselling in the same university.

He started his working career with the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission where he was posted to Ogba Grammar School as a Senior Guidance Counsellor.

In 1994, he moved to Adrao International Schools, Victoria Island, Lagos as a Principal Guidance Counsellor.

Other schools he worked as a teacher, counsellor and Principal include: Access Schools Calabar, Kolaniks International Schools, Oke-Aro, Ogun State and Roemichs International Schools, Ilorin.

He also had a working stint spanning more than a decade in the Insurance Industry where he rose to the position of Underwriting Manager.

Ayodele is a seasoned writer apart from authoring a book, he has also written various articles some of which have been published in Journals and Newspapers.

He is a member of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and Counselling Association of Nigeria.

His areas of interest include: Behaviour Modification and Mental health.

Currently, he is the college Guidance Counsellor of Bridge House College

Mathematics Lecturer

Mr. Obi Henry has a degree in Mathematics and is a member of Mathematical Association of Nigeria.

After graduation he started as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic in Imo State.

He joined Bridge House College from Emerald High School where he was Head of Mathematics Department/Sciences.

He teaches Mathematics at Bridge House College and is the coordinator of the Examination Committee.

He believes in using hard work as a tool for achieving success and encourages hardwork.

Asst. Admin Officer

Harrison is a graduate of University of Lagos where he graduated with a BSc. in Human Kinetics and Health Education.

He has worked in various schools as a Physical and Health Education Instructor.

He presently works in Bridge House College as a House Master, dispensing pastoral care to the boarders.

He has attended training on ‘Managing Students Affairs Function Effectively organised by NIPR & Citizenship & Leadership training in sea-school.

Presently, he is a member of the Sport Committee.

College Secretary

Mrs. Helen Ukpe has worked at Coscharis Technologies as Administrative Assistant.

At Bridge House College she works as the Secretary to the Director of Studies. She is also involved in a number of administrative responsibilities.

Her favourite quote is “Wisdom is the principal thing, in all thy getting, get wisdom.”

Helen Ukpe is a graduate of Public Administration from Ambrose Alli University.

Bursar

Adedoyin Kalejaiye is a seasoned Accountant and Financial Analyst. A graduate of the famous Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (Lautech) and an MBA post- graduate student of the University of Lagos. She holds a proficiency certificate in Management and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered. She is also working towards obtaining her ICAN  certification.

Adedoyin is a conscientious worker with great employability skills. She is always looking for ways to enhance her self development while adding positive values to BHC’s image and productivity.

Mrs. Adedoyin Kalejaiye is the Bursar at Bridge House College.

Assistant Bursar

Tunbosun graduated from the University of Lagos in 2010 with B. Sc (Accountancy).
He started his career with the Internal Audit Unit, University of Lagos from 2010-2011. He later joined Smart Poly Products as a Cost Analyst from 2011-2013.
He currently work with Bridge House College as an Assistant Bursar. He is a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Communication Skills Lecturer
Facilities Officer

Francis Augustine has Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro obtained in 1998.

He holds a 2004 Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Calabar.

Augustine worked as Accounts Officer   and later as Accounts Teacher at School Masters Academy, Lagos before joining the service of Bridge House College in 2007 as Librarian.

He is currently the Head of Facilities of the school.

Marketing Officer

Salome Okogho is a graduate of the University of Benin where she obtained a B.Sc in Microbiology. She is a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a Certified Service Professional (Service Quality Institute, USA).

She is currently Head of the Marketing Department at Bridge House College, having had career experience as a Biology & Chemistry teacher (NYSC), Customer Service Executive and Assistant Spa Manager.

She is passionate about encouraging and helping students achieve academic and moral excellence. She serves as a volunteer in her spare time tutoring less privileged students.

Camilus Anozie  is a graduate of the prestigious Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State where he obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mathematics & Computer Science and graduated with a second class honours in 2002.

He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).

He has several years of teaching experience in Information and Communication Technology and Mathematics.

Mr. Olalekan Oresanya is a 1994 graduate of Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with a Second Class Upper Division and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and solicitor in 1995. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK). In addition, a Master of Laws (LL.M) in view.

His teaching and lecturing experience in Law (British Curriculum – A- level, AS, University Degree Foundation) spanned well over fifteen years with schools such as Global International College, Cambridge College, Rainbow College amongst others.

His versatility, experience and knowledge of the English Law can be seen by the outstanding results of his students in the C.I.E over the years.

He teaches Law at Bridge House College.

Psychology Lecturer

Alexander holds a BSc and an MSc in Psychology. He has had over ten years of teaching experience. He works in Bridge House College as the Psychology Tutor.

He is motivated by the need to help others develop and believes that power is nothing if not put to use.

Fine Art Lecturer

Igbadia Tolu is a 1993 graduate of Art majoring in Graphics Design from Aucji Polytechnic, Auchi. He has over thirteen years of experience in both fFine Art and Applied Arts, Art practical as well as lecturing.
He has held both solo and joint exhibitions of drawing and paintings.
Presently, he lectures at Bridge House College.

Chemistry Lecturer

Michael obtained his BSc (Hon) degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1985 and topped this with MSc in the same field from the same school in 1995.
He started teaching Chemistry at Jemacho Educational Service where he was HOD Sciences from 1988-1993.
He had taught at several schools including Focus Tutorial College between 1993 and 1995, CTC International School, Artic Conference and Newhall Tutorial College, all in Lagos, before joining the service of Bridge House College.

Psychology & Sociology Lecturer

My academic background includes a first degree in Psychology and a Masters in Social Psychology and I am presently studying for my Phd Social Psychology from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Having being recognized by previous employer for my dedication to teaching and mastery of subject matter I have worked in various British curriculum schools teaching both Sociology and Psychology at CIE and IB diploma levels respectively. I have always commanded respect from the heads of institutions I’ve worked with, my students and peers alike. I have the ability to provide effective academic and administrative leadership; to communicate with and cater to the clients, students and staff; with my strong interpersonal skills.

I am passionate about bringing reality to my class as I believe it is the best medium of expression, outside my classes I love driving and travelling places, surf the internet for new information and anything of interest.
